![]() Most other vst's use only mono samples so panning is as simple as moving the panning lever left and right so it matches your own e-kit. My only gripe with it is, because it uses a lot of stereo samples, it's not very straightforward when it comes to custom panning. I tried various VST's (ad2, bfd, ezd2) before settling with SD3 for two main reasons: the user interface is simply second to none, it's by far the closest to my ideal user interface the other reason is variety, you're not going to find another vst with as many drums and cymbals to choose from. ![]() There is a big difference between, Tony Williams, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart, Lars Ulrich, Steve Jordan, Tony Allen, John Bonham.some sample packs feature are certain style and drummer or is also cool to combine different sample player.although Toontrack has recently closed the gaps and made most of my other vstis redundant. Also the tuning of the kits differs a lot, I have probably 15 Black Beauty on different platforms.very different sound and performance, sure you can tune to a certain small range inside the sample player, but the main difference/feel remains.you have to like it.simple as this.Ī lot of BFD kits are not optimized for vdrums, which is quite annoying. Also you need to address the various constraints of these cheaper offerings (see Nick74) in terms of hi-hat.a lot of workarounds necessary.īfd has some interesting offerings, the almost exact Metallica Black Album Kit (slow Metal, same studio and kit) a very nice Jazz Kit of Peter Erskine or Led Zepp or Hendrix (Henry Hirsch), but you have less dynamic playing range and articulations than Superiors Legends of Rock or Decades.on the other hand Erskine is way less roomy recorded than Decades.so it depends what you like. If you are into modern, fast and tight metal Getgooddrums is certainly cool in higher velocity playing, but it is way more heavy/demanding on the computer CPU than superior 3.0 even with best sound interfaces like lynx and rme, this applies also to other kontakt based sample offerings. ![]() It really depends, what you want to play.do you need more hi-hat articulations? Which music style? In terms of dynamics and playability Superiors latest packs are the best, a lot of articulations miss on other platforms.often no bell or edge on ride, less ride or snare articulations, no cymbal choke. ![]()
